Global Graduate Programme

You may be in your final year at university or you may have already graduated. You may also possess some relevant industry experience, maybe through a summer internship. You are keen to be part of the banking world.

Our global graduate programme covers all our regions (AMER, ASIA, EURO, France, and UK). Recruitment activity commences almost a year ahead of the programme start date when our graduates join the Bank. Graduate programme positions are offered in the following business lines and resource functions: Investment Banking, Global Finance, Global Markets, Accounting & Finance, IT and Operations.

Selection criteria

The minimum requirements you must meet to be considered for a graduate opportunity are:

- Be in the final year of your degree or have graduated from a university, business or engineering school
- Have an excellent academic record
- Be fluent in English.  Some roles require you to speak another language and will be specified
- Possess strong numeracy skills and the technical and soft skills specified in the job specification you apply for
- Having experience within the banking industry is an advantage, but is not a requirement
- Potentially be interested in having an international career

Online test
Successful candidates will be invited to take an online numerical test.

Phone Interview
Candidates who pass the test will be invited to a telephone interview. This will give us an opportunity to find out more about your experience, motivation and relevant skills.

Assessment Centre
Candidates selected after the telephone interview will be invited to attend the Assessment Event in either Europe (Paris and London) or Asia (Hong-Kong) from November 2011.

Finally
Shortly after the Assessment Centre, successful candidates will be offered a position in the Global Graduate Programme, starting in Summer 2012.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Accounting & Finance - Valuation Analyst  
Working as a Valuation Analyst, you will be In charge of the application of the risk analysis models in order to permit the correct valorisation of products.   In this respect, you will be the contact for any issue related to the result of the line you are in charge of from the economical view to the conversion in the financial statements.  We are looking for outstanding graduates with knowledge/experience of the markets environment and excellent modelling and financial mathematics skills.  If you speak fluent English, have studied either at a top engineering or business school and gained a masters in Finance, we would like to hear from you.  We have an opportunity within the business based in our office in Hong Kong.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Capital Markets - Sales  
Our Sales teams deliver a wide variety of solutions to clients using traditional and complex strategy in all the major financial centres.  With equity as major underlying and fully aligned with clients needs, our business offers solutions to a professional clientele (Asset managers, hedge funds, banks, brokers) covering the whole equity spectrum. In flow equity, its offer expands from the simplest (Cash Equity Research and Listed Options & Futures) to the more complex services (sophisticated Algorithmic Execution and exotic OTC products). It also comprises the entire universe of listed products (ETFs, warrants, certificates, ETNs) and its financial services include a complete 1 Delta offer (Swaps, CFDs, synthetic prime brokerage) and exotic derivative strategies.  Graduates joining the business in Sales roles are responsible for promoting and selling financial solutions from a trading desk in one of our poles of excellence. You approach new clients, build stronger commercial relationships with existing clients and provide innovative advice and solutions within a clearly defined geographical area. You also contribute to the development of new investment solutions with our financial engineering unit.  We are looking for a Masters graduate with Finance/Commercial skills and fluency in English. Previous experience in transactions in cash or equity related products would be an advantage.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Capital Markets - Sales E-commerce  
Within SG CIB, e-Commerce is a key area of growth and focus for the Capital Markets Fixed Income business line.  The main purpose is to promote our e-trading service to our Flow business clients across a wide range of our Fixed Income offerings (Rates, Credits, and Derivatives).  We are looking for outstanding graduates to join the business in a Sales role to work with our team on promoting this area of the business. If you have a Masters degree from a Business school or University, excellent Office and VBA skills, a good knowledge of financial products and fluency in English this could be the opportunity for you.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Investment Banking & Global Financing - Credit Analyst  
We have an opportunity for a graduate to join our business as a Credit Analyst, focusing on assessment & recommendation of corporate lending, structured financing and derivative requests for the SG investment banking businesses. You will be primarily covering the corporate sector, which includes preparation of the credit submission/opinions, addressing business and financial risks of the counterparty, sensitivity and cashflow analyses, input on structuring and transaction profitability.  We are looking for a graduate who is fluent in English and has excellent numerical skills and a good understanding of credit documentation such as syndicated loan agreements, ISDAs, guarantees etc.   If you  have excellent written and verbal communication skills and you can identify, analyse and assess credit of counterparties, understand/implement essential elements of good facility structuring and pricing, and balance (conflicting) objectives of clients and the Bank, we want to hear from you.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Investment Banking & Global Financing - Structured Finance Analyst  
A role as a Structured Finance Analyst is a job which calls for both technical and commercial skills. In this area you may be working on local or international projects that require high level financing solutions and need tax, law or accounting issues solved. Your client focus is at the heart of your business. You cooperate with other business lines to draw up term-sheets and financial offers, carry out cash flow modelling and operational analysis for Credit Committees and are closely involved in negotiations with risk, syndication and legal experts. We have a number of opportunities for Structured Finance Analysts across the different teams in our business which are: Leveraged and Strategic Acquisition Finance, Infrastructure and Asset Based Finance, Natural resources and Energy Finance, Export Finance and Real Estate Finance.  We are looking for talented graduates with a good knowledge of the market gained through previous internships or work experience, fluency English, strong analytical skills and a Masters degree from a University, Engineering or Business School.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Investment Banking & Global Financing - Syndication Analyst  

As a graduate within our Syndication teams, your mission is to review, study and analyse transactions and to advise on pricing and distribution strategy thanks to your specific knowledge of the conditions either the loan, bond or equity capital market transaction.  In particular you will play an active part in the origination, structuring, underwriting and in the risk approval process. Once your team is mandated, it is your responsibility to ensure the syndication is appropriately executed and coordinated to achieve best distribution.  We have a number of graduate opportunities in this area within SG CIB.  If have a good knowledge of the market gained through previous internships or work experience, fluency in English and local languages, strong analytical and negotiation skills and a Masters degree from a University, Engineering or Business School, this may be the opportunity for you.


Graduate Programme - Hong Kong - Operations - Analyst  
Within Operations, the Analyst opportunity will be involved in covering the following financial products: Equities, Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives (vanilla and exotics), Credit Default swaps (vanilla and exotics), Forex, Commodities, for all operations done in Europe, Asia and in the US. SG CIB is committed in various trading activities with institutional counterparts on a wide array of products, ranging from plain vanilla to highly complex exotic structures. We have an opportunity for a graduate to join as an integral part of the Middle Office Team focussing on strengthening the efficiencies and processing of the group to support the Front Office business line.  You will  be located in the Middle Office, involved in processing the activity of the various desks, including Trade input/modification and cancellation for events, resolving Front Office vs. Back Office trade breaks, externally affirming trading actions and taking part on programme projects. We are looking for a graduate who understand Operations and the importance of the role to the activity of the bank.  Previous experience in a Trade Support role is desirable in addition to excellent analytical and financial skills and fluency in Cantonese and English.  Candidates with a Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics or other quantitative degrees are preferred.

Graduate Programme - Hong Kong/Tokyo - Capital Markets - Financial Engineer  
As a Financial Engineer, your role is to come up with the ideas of new financial solutions in close contact with the sales and trading desks. It's your market intelligence, economic research, designing abilities and imagination that shape the products. Working within your speciality and with ambitious targets, you are also responsible for monitoring the execution and the back-office booking process, and follow up the deals you structure.  Financial engineers are not only the experts when it comes to innovation, structuring, debt restructuring, leveraging and pricing, but also address the legal, tax, accounting and financial issues when customised products are structured and priced.  We are looking for outstanding graduates with strong educational backgrounds and great theoretical modelling knowledge and skills.  If you have experience in a trading room gained through your internships or work experience and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the business we want to hear from you.  We are looking for graduates with a degree in Financial Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics and fluency in English who can be innovative, think outside the box and develop great solutions for our clients.

SGCIB is seeking talented graduates motivated by discovering new technologies, learning about the investment banking sector and participating in innovative new projects. The IT Department is a worldwide organisation managing virtual teams all over the different platforms (Europe, Asia, Bangalore and the Americas) and is a client-aligned organisation, with departments dedicated to Business Lines and Support Functions. As part of the IT Department Team of Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking, you will be specifically assigned to one line of business: Equity Derivatives, Fixed-Income or Corporate Systems. You will work closely with the business and IT systems managers to undertake activities like collecting and surveying user needs and work on specifications and models for new IT developments, contribute to the functional evolution of the core packaged software and drive preliminary functional analysis and/or manage small size projects.  We are looking for a graduate with a degree in either Engineering, Business, Information Technology or Finance who are fluent in Japanese and English.
